So I was thinking about whether or not going to a blog format for Neimeyer.org was "giving up". Part of me (the geekier part) says that there is pride to be had in coding everything top to bottom myself and part of me says getting it done is more important.
I guess the parallel would be like wanting to build your own car to get to the grocery store. There will obviously be people that DO build their own car... but more likely than not you just buy one off the shelf.
I'm really not sure which has won yet. At this point I think it's still a compromise. I've got MattAndHarry.com that I can put up little php projects and other snippets of whatever and I've got here for anything that's more "brain dumpy". I'm also looking at using blogger as an "archive" for a collaborative project. More on that later as I figure out the details.
To laugh often and much, To win the respect of intelligent people, And the affection of children, To earn the appreciation of honest critics And endure the betrayal of false friends, To appreciate beauty, To find the best in others, To leave the world a bit better, Whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, Or a redeemed social condition, To know that even one life has breathed Better because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

"I'll make it simple," Malcome said. "A karate master does not kill people with his bare hands. He does not lose his temper and kill his wife. The person who kills is the person who has no discipline, no restraint, and who has purchased his power in the form of a Saturday night special. And that is the kind of power that science fosters and permits. And that is why you think that to build a place like this is simple."
"It was simple," Hammond insisted.
"Then why did it go wrong?"
